I was all over the map this week with projects. I put together my TruArt when I got to the studio on Monday. It comes with an instruction booklet that shows how to calibrate the volts on the machine. The unit was set to only 5 volts at the lowest setting and it needs to be at 20. With this unit one can actually control the voltage. The other one would get hot – or not. Here are a couple test projects that burnt like butter, “Fly Me to the Moon” and a couple of spoons.
Monday I sat with my alcohol inks and painted a blue jellyfish.
The studio acquired an Xtool D1 Pro laser cutter and engraver and I spent quite some time downloading the software LightBurn and connecting it to my Mac book so we can use the unit for engraving and cutting wood for my projects. Oh the future possibilities.
I received an order for some Texsolv cording to replace the hard plastic warp stick ties on my rigid heddle loom to keep my yarn from fraying while warping and a varident heddle package from Eugene Textile Center in Oregon. After replacing the ties I am going to attempt a new project: mug rugs.
And, on Friday, I got out my acrylic paints and painted Desert Sun. 16×20 canvas.
Oh, I forgot to mention our Ventura Rocketeers’ rocket launch on Saturday morning.
